Egypt's administrative levy on entry and transit visas will rise to $15 from January 1, 2027, according to Prime Ministerial Decree No. 2553 of 2026. This replaces the $12 levy currently in place.
The new levy is a separate charge from the visa fee itself. Egypt's current visa-on-arrival costs $30, and the e-Visa costs $30 for single entry or $65 for multiple entry. The $15 administrative levy does not automatically add to these prices - the previous $12 levy did not turn the $30 visa-on-arrival into $42.
Reports suggesting a $45 visa-on-arrival fee are not yet confirmed by Egyptian authorities.
If you are planning to travel to Egypt in 2027, check the official Egyptian fee schedule once the new levy takes effect from January 1. Do not assume visa costs based on the $15 figure alone.
