Vietnam Introduces Digital Arrival Card for Ho Chi Minh City Airport

Vietnam has introduced a new digital arrival card requirement for international travellers arriving in Ho Chi Minh City. The rule came into effect on April 15, 2026 and currently applies at Tan Son Nhat International Airport.

What’s Changing

Indian passport holders must now submit a digital immigration declaration instead of filling out a paper form on arrival:

  • Online form completed before arrival
  • QR code generated for immigration
  • Replaces traditional paper arrival card
  • Mandatory for entry at Ho Chi Minh City airport

What This Means for Travellers

For travellers, this adds a new step before flying to Vietnam:

  • Must be completed in advance to avoid delays
  • Requires accurate passport and travel details
  • Speeds up immigration if done in advance
